Training your brain to a winning mindset
Often people focus on the physical side of their sport, on technique and their fitness - with the mental side of it left as a footnote.
Even at the amateur level though, having that positive mindset- being able to learn & bounceback from defeats or difficult situations- cannot be under estimated.
And at the more elite level, that confidence and mindset can be the difference between victory and defeat.

Sometimes even the most experienced athletes can hit a dip in form, despite not changing anything in their training routine. And because of the way our 'Primitive' [Negative] brain responds, we can focus on that issue and catastrophise that this will be the end of your career etc etc. In olympic and elite sports such as pentathlon, this anxiety can translate into issues with certain events that can ruin the possibility of medalling.

Hypnotherapy has a long track record in pain management, reaching back over 20 years when Hypno-Birthing was first introduced. Enabling women to be able to learn to focus their mind, to deeply relax to manage labour contractions and in many cases to give birth with no drugs whatsover.
Sports injury recovery without drugs
Firstly, it is important to note that the recommendations of your Medical Consultant or GP should always be taken first. Clinical hypnosis can be suggested and used as part of a complementary programme of recovery.
By encouraging deep relaxation , hypnotherapy can work to reduce muscle tension around injury sites and helping faster recovery. We can also work with you to enable you to access the subconscious mind and to develop higher pain thresholds.
Blocking out fears of repeat sports injury
Even when the physical scars have healed, sometimes the mental scars remain. This might mean sports people become tentative in pushing the edges of performance like they did before. For fear of repeating an injury, of perhaps a career-threatening problem.
I can help overcome and 'rewire' those negative templates and for you to move onto higher levels of performance
