The length of time it takes to see results from sessions varies depending on the individual and the issues being addressed. Like any therapy, our approach requires willpower and commitment from you as the client. And also transparency in terms of your condition and any underlying diagnosis.
Our aim is to set you on a positive pathway to your goals in as short a time as possible- and many clients are surprised at how soon they see significant progress to their goals. The number of sessions required needs to fit your individual case and goals. For quitting smoking and vaping though, hypnotherapy has excellent success rates after two 90-mins sessions. See pricing here. In general though 8-12 sessions are 'average' to see positive results for anxiety and other diagnoses, although it can be longer.

For phobias , we generally need 3-5 sessions. For anxiety and other more complex cases, we also offer packages of five sessions , offering a lower cost per session than a one-off.
Like most therapists, the standard session is 55 mins, giving us 25 minutes for a positive, solution focussed talking therapy session and around 20 mins for hypnosis. Obviously this split can vary by week and by client
If timings allow, we may offer longer sessions, for example a 90 minutes session is recommended for quitting smoking or vaping
Clinical hypnotherapy sessions are designed to leave you feeling positive, energised and with a feeling of calmness post treatment. Our training and techniques mean that you are quickly able to be able to continue with your day, with work meetings or to drive or anything else you were doing pre-session.
To some extent, you will feel MORE refreshed and alert than before.
Trance is not the same as sleeping - ask me to explain more in our Initial session.
An important point- do not listen to a hypnotherapy audio whilst driving, operating machinery or doing any task requiring you to be fully alert.

Online sessions are just as effective as face to face and became the norm for many therapists during and post-Covid. Many clients find the convenience of hopping on a video call , from whatever location suits, a great benefit.
We can use whichever video format works best for you- most of the time we use Facetime or WhatsApp video, or Teams & Skype from a PC if that’s easier answer to this item.
3 key tips to ensure a smooth online session are:
#1 Choose a quiet , private space to have the session
• Find a room that allows you to be fully relaxed and unlikely to be interrupted •Ideally with a comfy sofa , chair or bed where you can lie back for the hypnosis element of our session
•I’ll need to be able to see your face/ top half of your body during the hypnosis, mainly so I can see how you are during the session
•Obviously no one can guarantee perfect silence… and from experience, once in a session, doorbells, dogs and birds just blend into the background !
#2 Test your device set-up [wi-fi connection, camera , microphone and sound] ahead of the session
• •Wi-fi or mobile | Sessions work very well on mobile services such as Facetime or WhatsApp video. Ideally have a tripod or stand so that you can relax and not worry about holding the device or balancing it during the session
•Sound | Do a trial call to a friend to test your sound and mic are working well. •I’ll also send you the MP3 file of my hypnotherapy backing music [Big Blue], so that you can play that at home and have that at whichever volume suits you •
#3 Minimise interruptions
• •Let family or potential visitors know you need a quiet hour
•Switch off alerts or ringtones on your mobile; or Off if you are using your laptop or a tablet to have the session
